🌿 Seeing HTR in Everyday Life

You don’t need to start anything new to see HTR in your life.

The areas that shape health and wellbeing are already present in everyday living — often quietly, often unnoticed. These areas don’t just describe actions — they are the language of HTR. When you hear words like Direction, Learning, Self-Care, or Play, you’re already thinking in terms of health and wellbeing. HTR is simply a way of recognising these parts of life and seeing how they naturally connect.

Before change, before structure, before improvement, there is awareness of what is already here.

🧭 Direction

Moments when you think about where you’re heading, what matters to you, or what you want more (or less) of in life.
Examples: planning your week, reflecting on a goal, deciding to try something new, or simply noticing what makes your day feel meaningful.

📚 Learning

Any time you gain new understanding — through conversation, experience, reading, listening, or noticing something differently.
Examples: picking up a tip from a friend, reading an article, noticing a new perspective in your daily commute, or learning how to use your phone more efficiently.

🧠 Self-Care

The small ways you look after yourself — physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Examples: getting up and showering, brushing your teeth, doing your hair, having a cup of tea, taking a short pause, or setting a boundary when you need space.

😴 Sleep & Rest

How your body and mind pause and recover.
Examples: sleeping through the night, taking a nap, lying down for a few minutes, zoning out with music, or sitting quietly while you sip a drink.

🏃 Movement

All the ways your body moves — for work, play, or daily living.
Examples: walking to the shops, bending to pick something up, stretching in the morning, lifting groceries, dancing around the kitchen, or even getting up to make a cup of tea.

🥗 Food & Nourishment

Eating in any form — quick meals, shared meals, snacks, routines, cravings, or habits.
Examples: making breakfast, sharing lunch with a colleague, enjoying a snack while reading, or noticing what your body really wants to eat.

👥 Connection

Conversations, shared moments, small interactions, and time with others.
Examples: chatting with a neighbour, texting a friend, making small talk at the bus stop, sharing a joke with a coworker, or spending time with family.

🎨 Play

Moments of lightness, curiosity, and creativity that make life feel less serious.
Examples: doodling, playing a simple game, laughing at a meme, trying a hobby, experimenting in the kitchen, or doing something just for fun.

🌳 Nature

Time outside, natural light, fresh air, plants, landscapes, or seasonal changes.
Examples: standing in the sun for a few minutes, walking through a park, looking at the sky, tending to a plant, or noticing the weather shift around you.

HTR begins with noticing.

These areas don’t need to be added to life — they are already there, in different forms and at different times. Simply recognising them can change how you see your days, and how the different parts of your life support your overall health and wellbeing.

Awareness is where HTR starts.
